- I was wrong. The Flyers, to their credit, showed heart and won in Pittsburgh Friday night to extend their playoff series to Game 6 Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.Hard to believe the Flyers would lose all three home games in the series, so I look for them to win tomorrow and force a decisive Game 7 back in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins are still the better team. The Orange and Black is lack a true No. 1 goalie. They remain inconsistent and sometimes unemotional. But anything can happen in a Game 7. Win on Sunday and the Flyers play with house money. Lose, especially getting blown out once again at home, and changes should be made after the season is over.
- The Phillies took their second game from another Pittsburgh team, the Pirates. The Phils did just enough to win on Friday night, 2-1. With the win the team goes to 12-7 overall and 7-1 at Citizens Bank Park. It's their best record at home to start a season since 1981. They are in second place in national League East, only two games behind the first place New York Mets.
- Herrera, Santana and Franco each had two hits. Hernandez continues to shine, both at bat and in the field. Kingery had the night off.
- Aaron Nola goes tonight against the Buccos, with Nick Pivetta wrapping up the four-game series on Sunday.
