IDOL CHATTER- SUNDAY NIGHT

Hollywood week is ending. The original 176  contestants are now down to 50. The final 24, which will proceed to the live shows, will be determined tonight. Here are my thoughts..

- I still like the deep-throated country singer, Caleb Hutchinson, even though his Sunday performance wasn't his best. Little Layla Spring made it to the top 50, but we didn't see her sing last night. She is still a favorite, so I'm glad.

- Both Catie and Noah made it to tonight, but both remain annoying as hell. Catie's dorky, nerdy act is wearing thin. He original song sucked. I don't know why the judges find her charming and quirky, in a nerdy Lisa Loeb-way. If she does make it to the live shows, hopefully America will vote her out. I have a sneaky feeling she will survive.

As for Noah, he just isn't the Idol-type, and his voice isn't that good. Still, he survives.

- It will be interesting to see if Katy's flame Trevor will make it. He was lackluster at best Sunday night. Dennis Lorenzo, the Philly kid, did OK, singing Daughtrys' "Home". I think he will survive.

- When Adam Lambert was a contestant, one kind of knew he would go a long way in the competition, between his voice and personality. i don't see an Adam in this group so far. No clear-cut winner. Someone needs to step forward and maybe once the live shows begin they will.

- The judges are no nonsense now. Lionel continues to be the leader. Will be interesting to see how they perform once the live shows begin.
