* Full-squad workouts for the Phillies in spring training starting today. The only players not in camp so far are Cesar Hernandez and Odubel Herrera. The first Grapefruit League game is this Friday vs the Blue Jays.
With temperatures in the 70s this week it will feel like baseball weather .
I love WIP Sports Radio and the Eagles, but it's Eagles all the time on the station. I want to savor their world championship but not drown in it. WIP does have a Hot Stove show on Tuesday nights from 6-7 pm.
Seems like every show has an ex-Eagle on it- Hollis Thomas, Jon Ritchie, Tra Thomas, Ike Reese. Ben Davis used to be on with Angelo in the morning until he got a regular gig as a Phillies broadcaster. Why not hire Ricky Bottalico for a weekly show?
There's a weekly Sixers show on the radio. Why not a regular Phillies/Baseball program, especially during the season?

* Speaking of the Sixers, they resume play after the All-Star break on Thursday at Chicago. They are 30-25 so far, the No. 7 seed in the East. They will shatter Vegas' over/under win total of 42 wins . The schedule looks easier in the second half.
Joel Embiid made a good showing at the All-Star Game, scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds , and two blocks, one on Embiid-rival Russell Westbrook.
I wish they would go back to a East vs. West format. Too confusing knowing who plays for Team LeBron and Team Curry.

The Flyers scored seven goals yesterday afternoon, defeating the rangers in new York, 7-4. Rookie goalie Alex Lyon took over for an injured Michael Nurweirth late in the game and did well. Expect Lyon to get a lot of playing time now.
Claude Girioux scored his 200th career goal in the game.
The Flyers now have 70 points, only four points off the top spot in their conference. They are surging, and along with the 76ers, have only lost once- a shoot-out, since the Eagles won the Super bowl two weeks ago. Is winning contagious?
