Today's quiz question- Which Phillies pitcher made the most All-Star starts?
Answer: Robin Roberts. He started five All-Star Games from 1950 to 1955 and is tied with Steve Carlton with seven selections to the midsummer classic. Roberts' teammate Curt Simmons started the 1952 game . making it six straight seasons that a Phillies pitcher started the All-Star game.
Roberts won 28 games in 1952 in the beginning of an awesome four-year run in which he led or tied for the league lead in wins, starts, complete games, and innings pitched.
