EAGLES FACTS AND TRIVIA

Today's fact: Eagle Playoff Records-


Superlative performances in the postseason take on added meaning, especially if they contribute to a win. Although Philadelphia has not achieved many championships, several Eagles have stepped up in the playoffs, and some are remembered in the following.

Answers to yesterday's quiz- Eagle Awards

1. All were quarterbacks. Roman Gabriel won Comeback Player of the Year in 1973, his first year with the Eagles, after a subpar last season with the Rams. Jim McMahon won in 1991. Randall Cunningham won in 1992. In 2010, Michael Vick won the award.

2. Chuck Bednarik was named to an All-Pro team 10 teams in 14 seasons.

3. Greasy Neale won Coach of the Year in 1948. Buck Shaw won it in 1960. Dick Vermeil won in 1979. Ray Rhodes won in 1995. Chip Kelly won it in 2013. Andy Reid won three times: once in 2000, 2002 and in 2010.

4. Safety Brian Dawkins is obvious, but the second Eagle is kicker David Akers.

5. Greasy Neale was fired two years after winning the award in 1950, So was Chip Kelly and Andy Reid Rhodes was fired three years later after winning the award. Shaw and Vermeil retired on their own.
