Teens and adults with disabilities from around the globe are expected to attend hundreds of proms planned just for them on a single night ahead of Valentine's Day.
The Tim Tebow Foundation said that 540 churches will host the special parties this week as part of the group's annual "Night to Shine."
Proms feature a red carpet with friendly paparazzi, hair and make-up stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, dinner and dancing. The night concludes with each guest being crowned king or queen of the prom.
Events will be held in every state and in 16 countries, the foundation said, and are open to individuals with special needs who are age 14 and older. This year's parties are expected to draw 90,000 guests and over 175,000 volunteers.
"I am so thankful for each and every host church, volunteer, donor and sponsor for answering the call and joining this worldwide movement," said Tim Tebow, the former NFL quarterback who heads the foundation. "To think that 90,000 people with special needs will be cheered for, celebrated and loved on one night around the world is just amazing."
The Tim Tebow Foundation originated Night to Shine four years ago when 45 proms were held.
This year the group said it will spend over $ 3.5 million to provide decorations, gifts for each attendee and other assistance to host churches for the events
