IN MY LIFE- HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE HARRISON!

Thinking of George Harrison on this, his birthday weekend . Tomorrow he would've been 75-years-old.

The quiet Beatle, he was honest, had common sense, spiritual, an amazing musician and underrated songwriter. Imagine being near two of the greatest songwriters in history- Lennon and McCartney. But even Paul said in Beatles Anthology how George grew as a songwriter, penning classics like "Something", "While my Guitar Gently Weeps", and my favorite, 'Here Comes The Sun.'

George was the peacemaker in the Beatles. During the Let It Be sessions, when Paul and John was at odds, and Ringo was moody, George stayed the solid, calm, stable one, even when Paul tried to take control by telling George how to play certain guitar riffs .

In Beatles Anthology, interviewing the three remaining Beatles, where did they meet? At George's house. Jamming in his home studio, laying on the grass in his backyard ( while George strums a ukulele)and my favorite scenes- the three Beatles sitting around George's kitchen table, shooting the breeze and reminding. George's eyes light up when he remembers meeting Elvis again in Las Vegas, Elvis wearing all white and looking like a God. "When Elvis was good, " George said, "He was so good!"

George loved to explore music, and his love for Indian music led to the popularity in our culture for the sitar.

R.I.P. George.
