Today's quiz: Who was the last Phillie to turn an unassisted triple play?


Answer: Eric Bruntlett. The second baseman became the second Phillie to turn an unassisted triple play on August 23, 2009, against the Mets at Citi Field.

- Mickey Morandini turned the first unassisted triple play against the Pirates in 1992.

For the last "traditional;" triple play,it was done on August 8, 2016. Third baseman Maikel Franco fielded a sharp grounder, stepped on third base, and the Phils went around the horn for a 5-4-3 triple play.
