Today's quiz- Who registered the longest hitting streak in Phillies history?


Answer: Jimmy Rollins. 38 -games. He ended the 2005 season with a 36-game hitting streak and extended it to 38 games in 2006.

It was the eighth- longest hitting streak in major-league history and the longest since Paul Molitor hit safely in 39 consecutive games.

No player has reached Rollins' total since, although Chase Utley came close with a 35-game hitting streak later in that same season.
