Traditions: Chief Osceola and Renegade Debut

At Florida State, Chief Osceola races down the field on his horse Renegade during home football games at Bobby Bowden Field or Doak Campbell Stadium,.

Osceola is named for the famous Seminole Indian leader of the same name. 40 years ago this weekend, Chief Osceola and Renegade debuted at a September 16, 1978, game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys  Seminoles 38, Cowboys 20.
