PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- PHILLIES,EAGLES

- I'm really starting to dislike Kapler. I liked his positive attitude, but hate his lying. He called the frustrating, disappointing Arrieta, the $30 million pitcher who was a total bust this season, a"horse." More like horse's-ass. Arrieta, like Hunter and Santana , were free agent busts. Kapler and Klentak thinks the fans are stupid. The owners needs to clean house on October 1st.

- The Phillies have no heart. Atlanta loses 3 in a row, giving the Phils a shot to get closer before their 7 game match-ups at the end of the year, but the Phillies have proceeded to lose to lowly Miami and New York and remain 6 1/2 games behind, 5 games in the wild card.

The Phillies don't deserve the playoffs. Dropping below .500, after being in 1st place for part of the summer, may push ownership to make changes as the team imploded during the second half of the summer.

- They came back after a 4-0 deficit last night, but only scored in one inning. That's the story all year. No rallies. Play for the 3-run home run.

Better that the team loses big to Atlanta this weekend, get swept in Colorado, come home for the final weekend and limp into the off-season. Watch Klentak and Kapler lie about how the team is "improved." Meanwhile, we know nothing about the young players such as Quinn, Cozens, Altherr, Williams, Kingery and Crawford- are they everyday players/ They don't have a phenom like Acuna Jr. or Soto in their system. They have tons of money to spend on free agents, but will they sign the right free agents- and will a Machado or Harper want to play in a dysfunctional organization like the Phillies?

- After-thoughts on the Eagles..

Hated the broadcast team of Kenny Albert ( a New York guy and the dopey Barber twins- one an ex-Giant and the other an ex- Buccaneer. Why do the Super bowl champs get that kind of a broadcast team?

- Where was first pick tight end Dallas Goedart on Sunday? With the receivers hurt, I thought the Eagles were going to employ a two tight end set, with Ertz and Goedhard? Instead we got guys named Perkins and Aiken.

Speaking of receivers, the browns traded troubled wide-out Josh Gorden to New England for a 5th round draft pick. Talented but tainted by drugs and other issues, Gorden would've upgraded the shaky Bird receiving corps.

Where is Jeremy Maclain/ Could he be any worse? Even a Dez Bryant wouldn't look bad at this point.

- In a  weak NFC East the Birds are 1-1 and tied with Dallas and Washington. With Wentz coming back next week vs Indy, the team needs to go 3-1 going into the huge October 7 rematch with Minnesota.
