NFL WRAP-UP WEEK 3

My impressions of Week 3 in pro football, with the Steelers at the Buccaneers tonight...

Browns over Jets-

Jets aren't prime-time just yet, even after destroying Detroit on Monday Night Football in week 1. Browns, with QB Baker Mayfield are better and will actually be a force to reckon with in AFC North. Cleveland travels to winless Oakland next weekend while New York goes to Jacksonville.

Eagles over Colts-

See my review
elsewhere in the blog. The Birds play at the Titans next Sunday while the Colts host the winless Texans.

Saints over Falcons-

Typical Falcons- Saints shoot-out. Atlanta is so inconsistent. They play at home again next week against  Cincinnati. New Orleans goes to the meadowlands to play the Giants.

Chiefs over 49ers-

As expected,  KC crushed the Niners at Arrowhead, but the biggest news was the loss of San Francisco QB Jimmy Garofolo for the season with an ACL. Could SF be calling the Eagles for Nick Foles/ Are we looking a tAndy Reid playing the birds in the Super Bowl in February? Kansas City goes to Denver for a big AFC West match-up while the 49ers try to recover at the Chargers.

Dolphins over Raiders-

Nice to see a team finally give the Patriots some competition in AFC east. The Dolphins are 3-0 and playing at angry New England next week. Oakland hopes to get their first win at home against the Browns.

Bills over Vikings-

The biggest upset in the NFL in years. Buffalo, once a 17 point underdog, go into Minnesota and destroy the Vikes. Minnesota had to be over-confident, as now they have road games ahead vs the Rams and Eagles. Buffalo stay on the road at Green Bay next week.

Redskins over Packers-

Washington goes to 2-1 with the home win, while the Pack slip to 1-1-1. Next week the Skins have an early bye while the Pack host the Bills.

Panthers over Bengals-

Carolina stays right behind Tampa Bay as Cincy loses its first game of the season. The Bengals go to Atlanta while Carolina takes an early bye.

Titans over Jaguars-

Ina boring AFC South rivalry, Tennessee prevailed at Jacksonville, tying their division. The Titans go home and host the Eagles on Sunday, while the Jags stay home against  the jets.

Ravens over Broncos-

Baltimore is a different team at home. With the Steelers struggling, the Ravens can seize control of AFC North. They play three road games in a row, starting with a bitter game in Pittsburgh next week. Denver goes home to play the red-hot Chiefs.

Giants over Texans-

The Giants get their first win of the season against a surprisingly bad Houston squad. The G-men go home next week to face the Saints while the Texans try to avoid a 0-4 start at Indianapolis.

Rams over Chargers-

In the battle of Los Angeles, the explosive Rams out-lasted the Chargers. The Rams have a short week but stay at home Thursday Night against the reeling Vikings, while the Chargers host San Francisco.

Bears over Cardinals-

Arizona is bad, going 0-3 but they did cover at home against the Bears. Chicago are actually on top of NFC North at 2-1. Da Bears host a Tampa bay team playing tonight, while the Cards stay in the desert against Seattle.

Seahawks over Cowboys-

Seattle had to win yesterday to avoid an 0-3 start. Dallas is a bad team without weapons. Seattle goes to Arizona for a NFC West game while Dallas returns home to face the Lions.

Lions over Patriots-

Detroit looked awful in their opener against the lowly jets yet they cause the Patriots to lose two straight games since 2015. Go figure. The Lions go to the Cowboys next week while 1-2 New England prepares for a home game against division-leading Miami.
