- Gabe Kapler deserves to get fired immediately, if not sooner. Again, Odubel Herrera fails to run out a ground ball last night. Instead of calling him out after the game, or at least acknowledging the lack of hustle, Kapler said he "needs to watch the tape."
Bullshit. Kapler isn't honest with the fans, let alone the media. He is over-matched and too caught up with analytics. Free agents may not want to a dysfunctional, loser organization.
- Remember Christian Yelich? He went to Milwaukee and is having a MVP-type year. At one time the Phillies were hot after Yelich. In fact he was linked to Giancarlos Stanton in any deal.
Instead we got Santana. What happened/ Another Klentak blunder.
Please, John Middleton, listen to the fans. Clean house. Give the fans a reason to care again. No one is going to the games. Why should I buy tickets next season?
It's the worst September in 76 years. The Phillies are one game under .500 now. An improved record means nothing. The rebuild is over yet we still don't know if some of the younger players, like Kingery, Williams and Cozens can play.
- Rather than rehash another horrible Phillies' loss- their 6th defeat in a row- a 10-3 beating in Colorado- let's continue to review and preview 3 more players..
- Carlos Santana-
A huge free agent mistake. He hit 23 home runs and has walked over 100 times. But he can't hit for average. His defense is poorer than expected. At times he acts like he doesn't care by not hustling and going brain-dead on the bases and in the field. Ridiculous that he batted clean-up for much of the year. Forced Hoskins to play left field. Total bust and needs to be traded .F
-Hector Neris-
Was the closer, melted down- again came back from Lehigh Valley and performed well. I wouldn't trust him as a closer again. He may have a role as a set-up guy next season. C
- Rhys Hoskins-
Had a good season. He was hurt during the year, yet will still ended up with 32-plus home runs. Went cold and seemed to wear down later in the summer. Should do even better if he plays first base and stays at first base. Seems to get into funks where he chases bad balls. Young enough to get even better and be the face of the team, along with Nola. He should be the clean-up hitter. Period. B

Brilliant marketing move by the Flyers! Mixed opinions on gritty, the new Flyers' mascot, an orange fluffball . It looks like Donald Trump's hair had a lid. Anyway, Not sure how I feel about Gritty. Hey, it's entertainment. If it makes the experience of attending a flyers game more enjoyable, why not/ Plus imagine all the Gritty dolls and t-shirts they will sell.
If the response by fans, the media and the Internet indicate anything, Gritty has already been a success for the Orange and Black.
