PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- PHILLIES, FLYERS, SIXERS

This and that in Philly sports..

- Sixers' center Joel Embiid is in the hospital after being banged in the face by teammate Markelle Fultz. Unsure if he has any broken bones in his face. I'm sure Embiid will wear a mask for the rest of the season. At least it wasn't his foot or knee.

The Sixers won their eighth game in a row, beating the Knicks. They are currently fourth in the conference.

- Opening Day! Hopefully Kingery plays and starts. Time to get off to a fast start ( the Phils usually start slow) with Aaron Nola, who should win 15+ games this season.  Nola is 5-1 all-time vs Atlanta Will Hoskins homer?

- My top 3 favorite baseball movies..

1. The Natural
2. It Happens Every Spring
3. A League Of Our Own

Field Of Dreams is good, but I liked the book better (Shoeless Joe). The Natural..great ending. Robert Redford is truly a natural in the movie, as he played baseball in college. It Happens Every Spring is an old-time, quirky comedy. Tom Hanks is the best thing about A League Of Their Own.

- Flyers' goalie Michael Nirwurth got hurt again last night in the Flyers' 2-1 win in Colorado.  Is Brian Elliot coming back soon/ The Orange and black aren't going anywhere in the playoffs without a reliable, steady, healthy true No. 1 goaltender.

- All is quiet on the Eagles' front as the owners' meetings end in Orlando, Fla. The draft is a month away. Expect some movements by GM Howie Rossman to get more draft picks. Trading linebacker Mychal Kendricks is a possibility.
