PHILLIES FACTS AND TRIVIA

Today's quiz: name the six statues built at Citizens Bank Park.

Answer: Robin Roberts, Richie Ashburn, Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Harry Kalas and Connie Mack.

More Citizen Bank Park facts-

- Built for $345 million. Citizens Bank purchased the naming rights for $96 million over 25 years.

- Built with a seating capacity of 43,500.

- First regular season game was April 12, 2004 against the Cincinnati Reds.

- Before the first game, with bi-leveled bullpens, the Phillies pen was originally on top. They decided to switch and allow the visiting teams' bullpen on top. Better to hear the sometimes verbal Philly fans.

- After the 2005 season, with home runs, especially to left field, flying out of the new park, the Phillies raised the left field fence two and a half feet and removed the first two rows of seats to push the fence back an additional five feet.

- Ryan Howard hit the longest home run in Citizens Bank Park history ( although Giancarlos Stanton  can lay claim to that feat as well, with a few titanic shots onto Ashburn Alley). Howard hit one on June 27, 2007 off Aaron Harang that went an estimated 505 feet onto Ashburn Alley in left-center field.
