- Traded to the Phillies on November 7, 2007 for Michael Bourne, Geoff Geary and Mike Constanzo from Houston.
The Phils also received Eric Bruntlett in the deal. He scored the winning run in Game Three in the 2008 World Series, the first-ever walk-off single in World Series history. Bruntlett is also the only Phillie to hit a pinch-hit home run in the World Series.
For the Astros, speedy center-fielder Bourne was a lead off hitter who hit .283 from 2009 to 2011, won two Gold Gloves and led the National League in steals in all three seasons.
- Lidge was an All-Star in 2005 for Houston
- In 2008, Lidge finished with a 1.95 ERA and struck-out 95 batters in 69 1/3 innings.
- Lidge lost Game Five in the 2005 NLCS against the Cardinals when, with the Astros one out away from the World Series, Lidge served up a three-run homer to Albert Pujols (Houston eventually won the series).
- Lidge lost the 2008 All-Star Game in the 15th inning, costing the Phillies home-field advantage in the World Series.
- In 2009 Lidge led the majors in blown saves with 11, and went 0-8 with a 7.21 ERA. He lost Game Four of the 2009 World Series to the Yankees.
-Lidge signed as a free agent in 2012 with the Washington Nationals but only pitched in 11 games due to injuries. He retired at the end of the season.
