Answer: Mike Schmidt. In 18 seasons, Mike played in 2,404 games and appeared at the plate 10,062 times.

Mike Schmidt facts-

- Drafted in second round , one spot behind George Brett.

- Hit .211 at Double A Reading. Managed by Hall of Famer Jim Bunning.

- Ht 36 home runs in his second season with the Phillies. Hit 30 or more homers in 13 of his next 14 seasons. The only player in baseball history to lead the majors in home runs for more seasons was Babe Ruth.

- When Schmitty retired, he held 14 major-league records, 18 National League records, 24 Phillies career records, and 11 Phillies single-season records.

- Schmidt was a 12-time All-Star  and started nine times.

-Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on the first-ballot in 1995, joining Richie Ashburn.
