PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- BASEBALL PLAYOFFS

* The Eagles rule the city today, especially after their dominating win over Arizona yesterday. But there is more going on in sports, such as....

Both the Yankees and Red Sox saved themselves Sunday by winning Game 3 in their respective playoff series. I think Boston is more likely to win Game 4 and send their series back to Houston for a deciding final game with the Astros. Cleveland is just too good to lose to the Yanks, but after blowing the World series last year, you never know.

The Cubs-Nationals series moves to Wrigley Field. Washington needs a split to force a Game 5 back in Washington and finally crush the "choke-in-the-playoffs"curse. The Dodgers go to Arizona, up 2-0 to face the Diamondbacks. I thought the D-backs would have a shot in the series, but not so far. I see LA closing it out in Arizona and moving on.

* The Flyers play their last game of their opening road trip at Nashville. Winning there against the Predators would mean garnering 6 points out of 8 on the trip before coming home for 5 straight games. Even with a loss or earning a point in Nashville would have to be considered a successful trip.
