PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- BASEBALL PLAYOFFS, EAGLES

The Red Sox and Yankees have their backs against the wall after both losing last night, both falling to 0-2 in their respective series. I picked Boston to get to the World Series but it looks like it won't happen. Jose Altuve and Houston held court at home. Now they go to Fenway Park and try to close out the series.

Meanwhile, the Yanks return home to play the Indians in dire straits. After blowing a 6-2 lead Friday night, and losing in 13 innings, New York may get swept by Cleveland. The Yankees aren't ready to take the next step. They have a bright future but it won't be this year.

By the way, if Altuve doesn't win American League MVP something is wrong.

The Dodgers go for two in a row tonight tn LA vs the Diamondbacks. Arizona came into the series as the hot team. They can win tonight and split at Dodger Stadium before heading back to Arizona.

The Nationals once again are choking in the playoffs. They lost the opener- in Washington- last night vs. the Cubs. The Nats cruised through the NL East this summer, and ,once again, are coming up small in the post-season. It's a must-win situation already for Washington. Despite their stars, they can never seem to get over the hump. After 2018, Bryce Harper will bolt for free agency and the Nats will have to start all over again.

It's still early but are we looking at Indians-Astros and Dodgers-Cubs in the championship series? Great baseball so far.I still like the Dodgers to go all the way.

Showers are expected during the Eagles-Cardinals game tomorrow afternoon. If a running game in the bad weather is required, the Birds have the advantage, even with RB Wendall Smallwood probably out with a knee injury. Arizona has no running game. Philly needs a consistent pass rush to harass QB Carson Palmer into mistakes.
