CHIRPING BIRDS-WHO CAN BEAT THE EAGLES?

With the Eagles' 34-7 thrashing of the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, one has to ask: Who can Beat the Birds?

It's way too soon to talk Super Bowl, let alone playoffs, but with a 4-1 record and the rest of the NFC East struggling, the Eagles are in good shape.Much will tell this Thursday night when Philly travels to Carolina to take on the 4-1 Panthers. Win that game, and 3 consecutive home games await.

In the NFC, who can beat the Eagles right now? Green Bay is 4-1, but they seem to scramble a lot in their wins. They pulled out a victory at home to Cincinnati a few weeks ago. Yesterday, to their credit, Aaron Rodgers drove the Pack to a winning touchdown with time winding down against Dallas.

Where one plays the Packers is key. Play them in frigid Green Bay in January and you are less likely to win, then "balmy" Philadelphia..

Atlanta? Experienced team. But they lost to Buffalo recently in Atlanta. Super Bowl teams don't lose winnable games like that at home.

Carolina? Again, let's see what happens Thursday, but don't forget that the Panthers were bad just last season, even in Carolina.

Seattle? They beat the LA Rams Sunday, in a game the Rams should've won at the end. The Seahawks are 3-2 but have struggled as well, especially offensively.

So far, the Birds' NFC East rivals are weak. The Redskins lost to the Eagles on opening day in Washington. They play again in 13 days, this time at the Linc. The Cowboys just lost 2 games in a row at home and sit at 2-3 as they enter their bye week. Zeke Elliot is on the verge of serving out his suspension. The Giants are 0-5 after losing to the chargers in New York, an embarrassing loss. Plus the G-men lost Odell Beckham Jr. with a fractured ankle, probably for the season.

Other NFC challengers? The Rams? They are 3-2 but have to prove themselves to me in big games. Detroit, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Arizona, New Orleans- all wannabes

So, if the playoffs started today, who would beat the Eagles? Again, location would be the key, as well as injuries.

So, the Eagles may be set for a playoff run. Getting the best record in the conference is key, as that comes with a bye and home field advantage.

Aside form undefeated Kansas City, who else in the AFC is playing well as the Birds? Philly went toe-to-toe  with the Chiefs at Arrowhead in the second game of the season. They were tied in the 4th quarter before KC pulled away, giving the Eagles their only defeat so far.

The AFC South is a mess, with Jacksonville leading the division at 3-2. AFC North is up for grabs between Pittsburgh, who lost at home Sunday to the Jaguars, and Baltimore, who lost at home to the Steelers last week.  AFC East is confusing with the Jets going 3-2,a long with he Bills, and New England scuffling, losing two games already in New England.

Other than the Chiefs, Denver and Oakland are challengers, but the Raiders lost their quarterback for a while, so who knows? The Broncos come to Lincoln Financial Field fora big meeting with the Eagles in early November.

The point is, right now, no one is football- aside form Kansas City- is better than the Eagles.

Things change, and it's a long season. If the Birds can hold court, winning the East, getting into the playoffs, and earning a much-coveted bye, why not the Eagles?

Who's gonna beat them?
