THIS DAY IN SPORTS HISTORY-AUGUST 15

A Zinger

"Great champions learn from past experiences, whether those are good or bad. A lot of times a guy needs to be knocked down before he gets up and fights."

- Paul Azinger

On this day in 1993, Paul Azinger takes the PGA Championship from Greg Norman on the second hole of sudden death and denies "The Shark" a stateside major. The Australian Norman became the second player in history to lose playoffs in all four major championships. Fort Azinger, it was his first major championship.
