- It seems like everyday we say "That was the worst loss of this Phillies' season." But yesterday's devastating loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday was pretty bad, as the team blew a five-run lead. Pivetta, Dominguez and Arano coughed up the lead. Who can we trust in the bullpen? Dominguez seems burned out. Certainly not the same pitcher he was earlier in the season.
The bullpen collapse goes back to GM Klentak. Instead of getting a true clsoer, such as Britton, Inglesias or even former Phil Ken Giles, Klentak said he "likes his bullpen" and instead got average guys like Loup and Avilan. Once again, Phillies management didn't really go all-in this summer. They passed on Machado, Murphy and Hamels.
- The club wasted another chance to draw closer to the Braves, who have lost two in a row to Miami. Still only 3 games out, the Phillies can creep back into contention with ahot week at home, facing the Nationals for three ( including a Nola vs. Scherzer rematch on Tuesday night) and a weekedns et against the Cubs.
- Roman Quinn keeps proving why he should play everyday. Why not move Hoskins back to first base, and play Quinn, Herrera and Williams in the outfield?
- Maybe Scott Kingery is finally snapping out of his season-long funk, as he slammed a homer yesterday to center field,I don't think he ever will blossom into the player he projected to be until he returns to second base on a full-time basis,
