Wheaties Box History
The first athlete to appear on a Wheaties box was Lou Gehrig in 1934 ( he appeared on the back, not on the front). Wheaties would eventually make the shift to featuring sports players on the front with decathlon gold medalist Bob Richards in 1958, Bruce Jenner appeared on the box in 1977 and was one of the first official Wheaties spokespeople. Jenner won the decathlon in 1976 at the Montreal Olympics. Michael Jordan has appeared on the box more than any other athlete.
