Today is 5 years since my mom passed away. She is winning lots of lottery and Bingo jackpots in heaven. I love and miss her.
hard to believe how time flies. Makes you stop and think and appreciate each day for the gift that it is.
5 years ago this afternoon I was holding her hand in the hospital on the Hospice unit, talking to her even though she was in a coma after a massive stroke 3 days before, convinced she could hear me.
I told her I loved her and that it was OK to let go, not to suffer anymore. As soon as I said that she died. She needed to hear it was OK and that I would be OK.
I was at the cemetery this morning and took her yellow mums. Very peaceful there, even in the hot and humid weather. But at times there was a soft, almost cooling breeze, like mom herself thanked me for visiting her.
Appreciate your loved ones while you can because they won't be around forever. But there are always the memories, which grow more heartfelt and vibrant on a day like today.
