PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- PHILLIES, EAGLES, SIXERS, FLYERS

- Looks like the Phillies dodged a bullet with Bryce Harper. All x-rays are negative on Harper's sore ankle. He will probably miss a few days. His status is day-to-day. With only
less than two weeks until Opening Day Harper will need his at-bats. In the scheme of things, the Phils got lucky.

Jake Arrieta had another shaky outing. He and Vince Valasquez seem to be the weak links in the starting rotation during spring training. I still don't think the team will do anything with the rotation until the trade deadline in July. Arrieta is experienced another to pitch his way out of a funk, while Valasquez can always be moved to the bullpen if needed.

- The Eagles resigned corner back Ronald Darby. Good move by the Birds as Darby, who tore an ACL last season, is only 25 and a good back when healthy. He signed a one-year deal as he will be a free agent after the 2019 season. The Birds need to add depth overall and focus on running back, another corner or safety, and add to the offensive line in the draft. Seeking another linebacker to replace Jordan Hicks, who signed with Arizona.

- The Sixers finally beat the Sacremento Kings last night to again jump into the No.3 seed in the Eastern Conference. Big game on Sunday afternoon against the conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks. Could this be a preview of the conference championship?

- The Flyers blew a big game on Friday night. Up 5-2 in Toronto, the Orange and Black surrendered five straight goals and lost 7-6, They dropped to seven points behind for a playoff spot.
