- The Eagles resigned Brandon Graham and Jason Kelce within the last few days. both are vocal leaders and are still playing at a high level on the playing field. It will be interesting what they do with guys like Jason Peters, Darren Sproles, Timmy Jurrnakins and Nelson Agholor.
Looks like Nick Foles will sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars next week. Perfect for the Eagles. He doesn't go to the Redskins or Giants to make them better, plus the Eagles won't face the Jags again until 2022.
3 events coming up for the Birds in the next six weeks; free agency, the release of the 2019 schedule, and the NFL Draft. Even if the city is going nuts over Bryce Harper and the fun Phillies' season ahead, there will always be interest in the Eagles.
- The Bryce Harper news conference went perfectly on Saturday. Harper came off as very fan friendly said all the right things. Looks like Harper will play his first Grapefruit League game on Saturday against Toronto.
The conference was set up on top of the first base dugout at Spectrum Field, which looked cool with the baseball diamond behind Harper and company.
The national media are making a big deal out of a flub Harper made during the conference. He mistakenly said he "hopes to bring a championship to D.C." instead of Philly. It was a mistake but the jealous media of other cities, like New York, are harping on (pardon the pun). Harper can make them pay this summer.
Harper's jersey became the fastest selling jersey of all-time in any sports after it became available on Saturday afternoon. With booming ticket sales and overwhelming merchandise sells, the $330 million deal suddenly looks like a bargain to the Phillies.
Chris Christie is at it again. Not only is he a loser because he is a Dallas Cowboy fan, he hates the Phillies too. He recently took shots at the Harper signing, saying Harper will get hurt and won't be available for Opening Day. He is a loser Mets fan, and is jealous.
- The Flyers kept their slim playoff hopes alive by beating the Islanders on Sunday afternoon. They are five points out of a playoff spot. Goalie Brian Elliot continues to play well, which is great news as the Orange and Black need another goaltender to complement rookie Carter Hart.
- Busy week for the Sixers, playing the Bulls at home and hitting the road to play the Magic and Rockets. All this without injured Joel Embiid. Coach Brett Brown continues to be shaky in crucial situations at crunch time in games. Along with injuries, Brown would be my main concern if the Sixers don't go far in the upcoming NBA playoffs.
