- Auditions ended last night on American Idol. It was a fun few weeks where we met a good abundance of quality singers, witness numerous human interest stories, and brought us even closer to the judges.
I still think we have already seen the next Idol ( Ashley Hess?) but there were more good singers on Monday night. I'm surprised they didn't make more of the Philadelphia auditions, as they seemed to focus more on New York City, Los Angeles and even Idaho.
I'm glad the annoying Catie Turner, who stopped by the Philly auditions to say hello, didn't try out again. Caleb also dropped in to support a friend ( who didn't make it) and Idol winner last season, Maddie Poppie, was disguised as a Goth horror-chick and surprised all by singing "The Rainbow Connection," her trademark song so far.
Katie Perry swooned over a young male singer who will probably go far just on looks alone. There have been plenty of 16-year-old teenage girls on this season, it was time to add a heartthrob on the scene for young girls.
The judges seemed more fair and honest this time around. Luke seems more at ease along with Katie, while Lionel takes his role as older mentor. Although i still miss Simon Cowell I have to admit that this set of judges work well together and seem to like each other.
Another Sunday/Monday duo of shows next weekend, starting the infamous Hollywood Week. Hopefully they keep this part to a few shows and not drag it out like lase season, to the point that the live shows seemed rushed. Pare it down to the Top Ten then go week by week as in the old days
