IDOL CHATTER LIVE SHOWS-PART 2

Another dramatic night on American Idol. Social media is complaining about the awkward way the Top 14 was pared down to 10 last night, but I found it to be fun, other than Lionel's over-dramatic save for Uche.

It's easier to comment on the losers, or rather,  the people who were sent home. Here are my thoughts..

To me, the biggest surprise was cute Riley Thompson, "America's Sweetheart ( I guess not)."She wasn't that bad on Sunday night, and was just as sugary on Monday night, singing for her life. I thought one of the judges would save her. She's only 16 and I guess America felt she was too young and not ready to win. She had the entire package- the voice, the looks, the freshness. I'm sorry to see her go but she was strictly a one-trick pony- all country.

The biggest disappointment was Ashley Hess. I picked her to win it all from her audition. Unlike Riley, Evelyn or even Raghu, Ashley had the maturity, voice and looks to go all the way. But Sunday was underwhelming and Monday night, doing "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder, sucked. That song was a bad choice as it's a horn song, bot a singer's song. She looked stupid in a black pant suit and looked like a raccoon with all the mascara. I'm just disappointed because i thought she had it all. now she will scuffle in music, playing  piano bars instead of big venues.

Eddie Island deserved to go. He was awful. Not just the last two nights. His act was just that- n act. He never had the voice. "Welcome to the Island" was a con job that the gullible judges bought into. Eddie showed his true colors Sunday and Monday, sounding and looking foolish as an Elton John wannabe. yelling "Bennie and the Jets" and another bad performance last night. I'm glad Katy didn't save his ass.

Evelyn was a beautiful girl with high-cheek bones and a bright smile but she proved to have no range in her throaty, sultry tone. When she tried to go out of the box with something upbeat on Sunday night she was out of her league. America didn't like her breathy style.

Three gorgeous girls out in one swoop. Alyessa Rghu was saved by Katie or else it would've been a total babe scourge.

Uche didn't not make the cut with the country but Lionel saved him after Uche started blubbering that "I guess people didn't like me." Since he was in the danger zone chances are he will be voted out soon enough.

As expected, contestants like Alejandro and Jeremiah made it. We don't know if they were America's top choices or were at the bottom of the voting. Lacey and Demetrius were minor surprises in the safe zone. Walker made it but I don't see him winning it all. Madison is good but somehow I thinks she comes up short. And Wade is going on, despite his gravelly voice and un-Idol-like appearance. Maybe people think he can be the next meatloaf?

Next week is the annual Disney night.
