IDOL CHATTER-DUOS WEEK PART 2

-Again I  pretty much predicted the 3 contestants to get the boot last night on American Idol. The duets were stronger last night than on Sunday, especially the Chris Issak duo. Again, Duo Week is primarily for the established artist to promote a new CD or tour. It's really not fair to the novice contestant, who may never have sung a duet before in their lives. What if you end up with a partner who sucks or who wants to hog the entire song? What if they pick the wrong song?

Ryan Seacrest was "sick" last night. Supposedly true, but I know that ABC likes Bobby Bones and has been grooming him to eventually take over for Seacrest if he ever bolts.  Bones did a competent job, and it helped that he is familiar with the show and the singers, as we are with him.

I liked Jeremiah last night, doing "Time After Time." I admire Ajeandro's talent but I'm not a huge fan like the judges. Here are my thoughts on each:

Evelyn- Has a sultry, low, unique voice. Gorgeous high cheek-bones and bright smile. Should last a while in Top Ten but won't win the grand prize.

Dimitrius-  A survivor, like his mom. His best work so far was his duet last night with Lukas Graham. Won't win and may get cut soon as America starts to vote next week.

Jeremiah- The best singer of them all. Cries a lot. Enough about his sexuality and his estrangement from his folks Will they be at the live shows? He is my pick to win it all.

Alyssa- Returned this year and shined. Won't win but much improved.

Wade- He forgot the lyrics during Hollywood Week ( twice) and lacks self-confidence. His unique, gravelly voice has saved him. Feel bad because he is poor and needed to borrow a jacket from  a security guard. Will America see him as Idol-type?

Eddie- A joke. Can't sing. Too much of a clown. America will get bored with his antics and rightfully will give him the ax.

Alejandro- He's good but not the all-time best as the judges proclaim. He can win, and should at least be Top 3.Somehow I don't think he will win, and the judges will try to save him or declare it injustice that he was voted off.

Laci- She's OK but won't win. She's sincere but just not good enough.

Ashley- My pick from the auditions. Still can win. She is mature, smooth and sexy, in a girl-next-door kind of way.

Walker- The Harry Potter, Where's Waldo guy. He can sing but will he win? I doubt it.

Madison- She's got the voice to win, in a Maddie Poppi kind of way. Somehow I just don't see her winning, but her voice alone will keep her afloat.

Uche- More of an entertainer than singer. May hang around because he is unique. Will be interesting to see how far he goes.

Riley- My darkhorse to win. Sweet, cute 16-year-old who can sing. Will America fall in love with her and make her a star?

Laine- Can't stand his slickness but he is better than last year. Seems stuck on himself and i think America will see through him.

Next Sunday will begin the live shows. Voting form 14 to 10. Will there be a theme week/ Disney week should happen again, since Disney owns ABC. Let's have another Beatles night. Should be interesting!
