EAGLES- TEXANS PREVIEW

Every game now is a must-win for the Eagles. They come home this Sunday for a 1:00 game vs the hot Houston Texans. The Texans are 0-4 all-time vs Philadelphia. The Eagles need to win to stay alive for a wild card spot. Houston is jockeying for playoff position.

Houston is 10-4. They don't need the game as badly as the Birds. The Texans don't play as well outdoors in the cold.

Nick Foles will start at QB for Philly. Imagine the reception he will get on Sunday from the fans! Even if they make the playoffs chances are Sunday's game will be the last home game Foles will play at the Linc.

Again the key will  be limiting turnover and penalties; keeping J.J. Watt at bay; and stopping the Texans' wide receivers.

Injured Eagles Jerrnigan and Hicks may be back. Carson Wentz will sit out again, with Nate Sudfeld assuming back-up quarterback duties behind Foles.

The Birds always seem to have problems with mobile quarterbacks. Houston's Watson is fleet and mobile and could give the Birds' defense problems out of the pocket.

Even if the Eagles win they have to hope for a Minnesota loss this week against Detroit or next week vs Chicago. Still, winning this game comes first. A long shot is for the division, but that would take the Eagles winning out and the Cowboys losing their final two games.

In a close game, I like the Eagles to survive one more week, winning 23-20.

It's nice to have a meaningful game in Week 16. remembering last year, when the Birds had clinched NFC East and were trying to hold down the No. 1 seed, and also recalling how this season seemed lost, it's nice to look forward to Sunday, still having a shot at the post-season.

Can St. Nick deliver another Christmas miracle?
