THIS DAY IN SPORTS HISTORY- NOVEMBER 19

Meadowlands Miracle

On this day in 1978, quarterback Joe Pisarcik and the Giants  needed only to run the clock out by putting a knee to the ground to secure a 17-12 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles with 20 seconds left. Instead the Giants tried a handoff that was that was fumbled on the exchange and Eagle Herman Edwards scooped up the ball and galloped 26 yards for a touchdown in the most embarrasing  loss  in Giants' history.

Eagles 17, Giants 12
