- As predicted, it may take a little bit before newly acquired Sixer guard Jimmy Butler gets acclimated with the team. Butler scored 14 point sin his 76er debut last night in Orlando, but only took two shots in the 4th quarter, and scoring zero points down the stretch. Philly blew a 16-point lead ( no surprise) and the Magic came back to win.
What's wrong with Ben Simmons? He hasn't played well for a few weeks. now, is he pouting as a result of the Butler deal? Without role players on the team like last season, when the team had guys like IILesova and Bellinelli. Will the three elite guys- Embiid, Simmons and Butler- be able to co-exist?
These up-and-down Sixers are fine with me. As long as they start to jell come playoff time. I bet the Sixers to win less than 53 1/2 games this season. They need a 16-game winning streak at the end of the year to reach 53 wins last season. A few extra losses along the way, but still reaching the post-season, is perfect.
- The flyers play a weak New Jersey Devils team tonight. Despite a loss to Florida on Tuesday the Orange and Black have played decent hockey lately. Let's hope it continues tonight and on Saturday afternoon at homeagainst the Lightning.
- New Eagle Golden Tate and new Sixer Jimmy Butler are a lot alike. Both were under-used in their debut games with both clubs. Hopefully we see more of Tate this weekend at New Orleans. Unless they sigh Tate to a long-term contract they only have him for eight games Was giving up a 3rd round draft pick worth it? Give the Eagles credit for being aggressive and trying to repeat.Plus they can get that pick back as a compensatory selection if Tate does walk.
