THIS DAY IN SPORTS HISTORY- JANUARY 27-28

Super Bowl Trivia

Which Super Bowl was the first to be played indoors?

Answer:

Forty years ago, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Denver "Orange Crush" Broncos 27-10 in Super Bowl XII held at the Louisiana Superdome.

The first football championship game to be held indoors occurred in 1932, when a snowstorm forced the one-game playoff for the 1932 NFL championship scheduled to be played at Wrigley Field into the 80-yard dirt field confines of Chicago Stadium. A controversial halfback pass from Bronco Nagurski to Red Grange helped Chicago beat the Portsmouth Spartans, 9-0.
