On this day in 1983, the Miami Dolphins intercepted Richard Todd five times and the rain-soaked Orange Bowl field limited Jet running back Freeman McNeil's effectiveness as Miami advanced to the Super Bowl with a 14-0 victory. The Dolphins then lost to the Washington Redskins, 27-17, in Super Bowl XVII at the Rose Bowl in California
