Thirty-five years ago today, Paul "Bear" Bryant died less than a month after he coached his final game defeating Illinois in the Liberty bowl, 21-15, for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He ended his career as the most successful coach in history at that time, compiling a career record of 323-85-17 and winning six national championship.
