NFL WRAP-UP- WEEK 17

* Aside from Eagles- Cowboys, here is a wrap-up on Week 17 in the NFL, the final week of the regular season..

* Vikings over Bears-

Minnesota clinched the No. 2 seed, behind the Eagles, in the NFC playoffs. They finish 13-3 and have a bye next weekend. The Bears end up 5-11. They had some surprising wins this season- namely beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh. otherwise, it was yet another disappointing season in Chicago. The Bears draft eighth  next spring and need weapons on offense.

* Patriots over Jets-

New England wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs. The road to the Super Bowl will go through snowy and cold New England, a formula that has worked for the Pats before. The Jets went 5-11 on the eyar and have the No. 6 pick in the draft. They still need a  quarterback.

* Giants over Redskins-

New York finishes 3-13 and draft No. 2 in the draft. Will they draft Eli Manning's successor? The Redskins end up 7-9 and remain in NFL purgatory, with the future of QB Kirk Cousins uncertain.

* Steelers over Browns-

Pittsburgh ends up 13-3 and has the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs. Cleveland is only the second team in NFL history to finish 0-16, after going 1-15 the year before. The draft No. 1 and No. 4 in the draft, unless the trade down.

* Lions over Packers-

Detroit finishes 9-7 but miss the playoffs. Their coach got fired today. Green Bay also finishes out of the postseason, a rare occurrence.

* Colts over Texans-

The Colts finish 4-12 without QB Andrew Luck. They have the No. 3 pick in the draft. Houston traded away their first round draft pcik, which is No. 4 overall to Cleveland. Houston has hopes that their injured, especially Watson and Watt, return next season.

Bills over Dolphins-

The Bills are in the playoffs for the first time since the late 90s. They travel to Jacksonville next weekend in a wild card game. Miami goes home with a disappointing season and remaining quarterback questions.

49'ers over Rams-

San Francisco won it's last five games and suddenly has hope for the future. The Rams stay at the No. 3 seed in the playoffs. They rested their starters yesterday, and play at home next weekend against the Falcons.

Falcons over Panthers-

Atlanta gets into the playoffs, after blowing the Super Bowl last season. They play the Rams in Los  Angeles. Experience is on their side. Carolina and Cam Newton looked awful against Atlanta. The Panthers blew a chance to win the NFC South. Now they travel to New Orleans next weekend to take on the Saints, whom they lost twice to this year.

Bengals over Ravens-

Baltimore didn't deserve to get into the postseason, especially after losing at home yesterday to mediocre Cincinnati.The Bengals finish another average season and show part ways with coach Marvin Lewis.

Buccaneers over Saints-

The disappointing Bucs were under-achievers in 2017. The Saints lost but still won the NFC South. Still, they will play on wild card weekend against Carolina.

Titans over Jaguars-

Tennessee is in the playoffs, but they go to  Arrowhead Stadium and Kansas City next weekend. The Jaguars need to beat the  surprising Bills  to avoid an early playoff exit.

Chiefs over Broncos-

Denver ends a horrible season, picking No. 5 in the draft next April. Kansas City won the AFC West but must play next weekend against Buffalo.

* Chargers over Raiders-

Oakland fired it's coach this morning, clearing the way for Jon Gruden to take over. The Chargers overcame an 0-4 start to almost make the playoffs at 9-7.

* Cardinals over Seahawks-

Seattle are the Ravens of the NFC. They don't deserve the playoffs after losing at home to the Cards. Arizona finishes yet another average year and may lose their coach today.
