77 years ago, United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave a "green light" to Kenesaw Mountain Landis, assuring the commissioner of Major League Baseball that it would be best for the morale of Americans at home that the upcoming season's ball games be played despite the overseas battles of the second World War.
