Name the Diamondbacks' player who scored the winning run against the Yankees in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series
A. Luis Gonzalez
B. Jay Bell
C. Mark Grace
D. Tony Womack
Answer: B.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, with New York manager Joe Torre pulling the infield in with one out and the bases loaded, Gonzalez looped a single just beyond the infield and Bell scored from third to complete Arizona's two-run rally. It was the Diamondback' first and only world championship ( to date). They had to rally from behind against new Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera, arguably the greatest closer of all time.
