PHILLIES PHODDER-BASEBALL RULE CHANGES?

Every year Major League Baseball and the Player's Union throw out rule change proposals. Some stick while most don't. 

The following are  the current changes being proposed, some to take effect as early as this season, most likely in to be implemented in 2020: ( this from  ESPN.com)

- Three-batter minimum

 I'm for this. Would speed up the game. Would do away with the one-batter left-handed reliever. 

- Universal DH

I'm for it. It's stupid to be playing under different rules if you have Inter league play. Would bring more offensive but take away some late-inning strategy

-Single Trade Deadline-

I'm for it. Would encourage more trades before July 31 and hopefully more free agent signings in the off-season to make the first half of the season more relevant.

( By the way, as we see now, they should set a limit in the off-season for free agents to sign..maybe from December 1- February 1?)

- 20-Second Pitch Clock

They already have this and don't enforce it. Does it really speed up the game that much? ( like the Intentional Walk?)

- Expansion of Rosters to 26, with a 12 pitcher max

I'm for it. Would give managers more flexibility. What I especially like is the 12-pitcher max. Managers would need to use thier bullpens more wisely and not make so many pitching changes. Would increase offense by carrying more bench players.

-Draft Advantages for Winning Teams

I'm for it. Reward winning rather than losing.

-Lower the Pitching Mound

Not sure how i feel about this. Another way to increase offense. They did this in the 1960s when Koufax, Gibson would dominating. I like 1-0 games and well-pitched classics.

- Start Extra Innings with Runner on Second Base

I'm NOT for this at all. It cheapens the game. A gimmick. They are already doing this in the minor leagues. This proposal would be to try it in spring training games and in the All-Star Game. I hate this proposal. You play the entire game and then you don't earn a runner in  scoring position? In fact, there is talk of putting a runner on third base starting the  13th inning. Bad move all to save time.
