THIS DAY IN SPORTS HISTORY- JANUARY 22

Joe "Cool"

"Winners, I am convinced, imagine their dreams first. They want it with all their heart and expect it to come true. There is, I believe, no other way to live."

- Joe Montana

30 years ago, the Bengals led 16-13 with 3:20 remaining in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XXIII. 49er QB Joe Montana finished an 11-play, 92-yard drive with a game-winning 10-yard TD pass to John Taylor with 34 seconds remaining in perhaps his greatest clutch performance as a pro. WR Jerry Rice caught 11 passes for 215 yards, taking MVP honors.
