PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- EAGLES, PHILLIES, SIXERS

- The Eagles get ready to take on the Saints tomorrow in New Orleans. As always, turnovers and penalties will be key. Putting pressure on QB Drew Brees and controlling the ball will also be huge. Keep the chains moving, get first downs, and keep the ball away from the Saints' offense.

Could it be Nick Foles final game as an Eagle? Or will the team win and play in the NFC Championship Game next weekend? Or will the Birds bring back Foles in 2019?

This is a different Philly team than the one that got embarrassed by New Orleans earlier in the year, 48-7. Foles is quarterback now, the defense is playing better and players like Darren Sproles are back from injury.

I still make it Eagles 34 Saints 31.

- Big day for Phillies fans, the day fans have been waiting for- the brass is meeting with Bryce Harper today a this home in Vegas. Let's see how serious owner John Middleton, who will fly to Vegas with Kapler, MacPhail and Klentak, will be face-to-face with Harper.

Will they make him an offer today? Will Harper sign a deal, or keep teams like the Dodgers and White Sox hanging?

What about Manny Machado? The Yankees may be out of the running on Machado since they now have a glut of infielders. But Gregorious will be a free agent after the 2019 season, and the New York organization isn't enamored with Anduyar's defense at third base.

Teams are getting limited for Machado and he may have no where else to go but Philadelphia in the end.

- The Sixers suffered a dreadful loss to the lowly Atlanta Hawks in Philly last night. It's a reason why I bet before the season started that the 76ers would not win at least 54 wins. With bad losses to the Wizards and Hawks this week, I still can't see the Sixers getting close to 54 wins again.

Without Embiid ( who sat out last night) they have little chance to win. Plus they play terrible defense and they miss both Bellinelli and Illyasova coming off the bench.
