IN MY LIFE- FAVORITE CONCERTS & COMEDY SHOWS OF 2018

I love going to concerts almost as much as sporting events. I was lucky enough to attend a few special music shows in 2018. Here are my favorites, in no particular order..

- Happy Together Tour ( Lancaster Music Theater)

Who can ask for more? The Turtles ( although one original member wasn't touring because of illness0. The Association, Mark Lindsey ( of Paul Revere and the Raiders), The Cowsills, Gary Puckett ( of The Union Gap), and Chuck Nigro ( of Three Dog night), all together, each doing a 20-minute set of greatest hits from the 60s.

This annual tour was great. And although the acts aren't what they used to be, it was still lots of fun singing the well-known songs together and sharing the memories.

- Nelson ( Sellersville Theater)

90s band Nelson did a touching and rocking tribute show to their dad, the late great Ricky nelson, an icon in rock n' roll. The twins had a tight three-piece band with a drummer. The over two hour show was packed with Ricky Nelson music, videos and memories. Best, the nelsons met every fan in the lobby after the show, signing autographs and taking selfies. They were gracious with their time and super-friendly with the fans.

- Country Spirit U.S.A. ( Ludwig's Corner)

The three-day event in the middle of August was so much fun. Headliners were Alabama, Brad Paisley and Toby Keith, but even the undercard, acts like Trace Adkins, were good. The weather held out and it was a blast. Can't wait for the return this coming summer.

- Al Stewart ( Colonial Theater)

Al is always good, but especially so this time, as he played the iconic album "Past, Present and Future" in it's entirety. Wondering how he will ever top that show later this fall?

- The Yardbirds ( Colonial Theater)

Great pop/soul featuring one original Yardbird. Songs like "Heart Full Of Soul" sounded fresh and new.

- Eagles/ James Taylor ( Citizens Bank Park)

Maybe my favorite show, certainly the longest at well over three hours. James Taylor was better than expected and the Eagles didn't disappoint.

- - Neil Sedaka ( Resorts Superstar Theater)

In Atlantic City for a rare show, Sedaka was great  with his classic hits.

Also, there were a trio of comedy shows we saw in 2018, including..

- Big Daddy Graham/ Joe Conklin- Two Funny Philly Guys ( Colonial Theater)

Always great to see Conklin. Graham is just OK. Still, it was a nice, entertaining evening last spring.

- Cheech & Chong ( Sugarhouse Casino)

They were great! Funny as hell, plus it was a two-hour show, rare for a casino setting.

Willie Tyler & Lester ( Parx Casino)

The anicent ventriloquist act from the 60s & 70s, great to see Tyler so close-up.
