45 years ago ( on a Sunday afternoon in one of the most memorable moments in college basketball history, #2 and unbeaten Notre Dame beat #1 UCLA 71-70, ending the Bruins' record 88-game winning streak.
One week later at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, UCLA returned the favor, defeating Notre Dame by 94-75 and regaining the No. 1 position in the polls.
