* Thank God for the Eagles. Our other winter sports teams- the Flyers and Sixers - are wildly inconsistent so far .
Last night the Flyers lost yet another home game, a 1-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild, the first defeat to the Wild in three years.
The Sixers hung tough with the defending champion Warriors at Golden State, but the Warriors went on a 24-4 run in the third quarter and blew Philly away.
The 76'ers play two more games this week on the west coast before returning home on Saturday to face the warriors again. The real question will be: Will Joel Embiid play back-to-back games , or which game will he sit out?
Tuesday night they face the LA Clippers, a better team featuring center Blake Griffin. On Wednesday the Sixers take on the LA Lakers, the much-hyped game vs Lonzo Ball and his dad.
Which game will Embiid sit out?
Meanwhile, the Flyers travel to Minnesota tot ry and get revenge from the Wild on Tuesday night. They also return home on Saturday with a game against Calgary.
It's still early, and both Philly clubs have been taking on tough teams so far. Give them time . Hopefully both will string wins together and separate themselves from the pack.
The Flyers are only a few points out of the top spot of their division. The Sixers , not expected to contend for the Atlantic division anyway, are behind a Boston Celtics team that has won 10 games in a row.

The Eagles are off today- weird not to watch the Birds after their 8-1 start, but the rest will do the Eagles good, especially helping injured players like Ertz and Darby get healthier from injuries.
The game to watch today is at 4:00 between Dallas and Atlanta. How will the cowboys do with RB Zeke Elliot, who begins to serve his suspension today? Will the Falcons finally win a home game and shake the post Super Bowl blues form 2016? Atlanta needs a win to hang with Carolina and New Orleans. Dallas can't look past the Falcons to their big match-up with the Eagles next Sunday night.
I think Atlanta gets back on track with a 27-10 victory.
