* The Flyers are currently pathetic. e Stepford fans who claim the Flyers are young...have played tough Western Conference teams...etc...They suck right now, losers of 7 games in a row.
They are losing a lot at home. And even if they do get it together and make their typical run at the playoffs ( why do they always seem to be digging themselves out of a hole?), they will regret losing these key games at home.
Obviously, they need a coaching change. It's not good enough to claim, "Well, we got a point" after blowing a two-goal lead a t home to a division rival ( who already beat you two days earlier).. As stated before, the Flyers won't win a thing until they get a true No. 1 goaltender.
They are stuck for this year, playing a combo of Nirwurth and Elliot in goal, waiting until a young stud goailie emerges from the minors. They could trade Giroux and get even younger. They really are in purgatory, if not hell.
I really thought, with their youth movement, the Flyers would be a lot farther along then they are. When you lose 7 games in a row in any sport, your team is not going in the right direction. Start with the coach.

The line on the Eagles-Bears game tomorrow is approaching an amazing 15 points. I predict a 17 point spread, Eagles 24 Bears 7. This could be a so-called "trap" game, with a three-game road trip awaiting, especially a key contest with Seattle next week. But I don't think the coaches and players will allow a letdown. It's good that Minnesota and New Orleans are pushing them for best overall record, playoff bye and home-field advantage.
I don't know who will beat the Eagles in the end. Some fans are wishing the Birds lose before the playoffs, to get them "hungry" again and all the other cliches. Why? Why can't the Eagles end up 15-1 and cruise into the playoffs? Why must they lose a game to have a chance at the Super Bowl?
Philly is a team of destiny this season. Everything is breaking right for them, plus add into the mix their depth and the fact all of their division rivals- Cowboys, Giants and Redskins- suck.
It's a special season. Enjoy the ride, wherever the ride takes us.
