CHIRPING BIRDS- SUPER BOWL AT THE LINC?

There's a report that if the Eagles make the Super bowl, the Linc would be open for fans to gather and watch the big game together.

How cool would that be?

It would a an icy cold February night. Some fans may want to stay in their warm homes, having a Super Bowl party, and watch the game.

Other die-hard fans may want to be part of the 60,000 who join at Lincoln Financial Field to root on the Birds to their first-ever Super Bowl championship.

It seems like the Eagles would need to get the approval of the NFL. Why not? At least give the fans the option.

Baseball does it. Astro fans recently filled Minute Maid Park to watch Game 7 of the World Series.

Ok, maybe charge $5 a ticket. Free parking. open the concession stands. Make it a real party.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself- but why not consider the idea IF/when the Eagles play in the Super Bowl?

NOTE: The NFL may not approve it because of TV ratings. I suppose 60,000 people would make a big difference. But Couldn't something be worked out with Lurie, the Eagles and the league?

Come to think of it, I can't remember another team opening it's stadium to it's fans to watch the Super Bowl together. Why can't the Eagles be the first?
