NFL WRAP-UP- WEEK 10

While the Eagles rested with their 8-1 mark, we got to watch some other interesting NFL games during week 10. The best part was that all 3 other NFC teams- Cowboys, Giants and Redskins-all lost.

The Birds win next Sunday night at Dallas and, barring a  total collapse, the division is theirs.  Dallas would be 5-5, four games behind Philly. The Redskins already have been swept by the Eagles. And the giants, at 1-8, are an afterthought.

There's a game tonight- Miami at Carolina, but who really cares? So, let's do our NFL wrap-up today, with so much to talk about.

* Seahawks over Cardinals-

Seattle won, hanging with he rams in NFC West, but don't seem like the Seattle teams of old. Plus they lost CB Richard Sherman for the season with a ruptured Achilles. Arizona never did gain traction this season, and with QB Carson Palmer out with a broken arm, gave they are going thru the motions. The Seahawks  have a key game at tome this week with Atlanta, a game both clubs need badly. Arizona travels to Houston to take on the Texans.

Saints over Bills-

This one surprised me, just how bad the Saints beat the Bills in Buffalo. new Orleans has won 7 games in a row and are clicking on all cylinders. Carolina and Atlanta need to step it up juist to stay with the Saints. Both division rivals are fortunate to have games with New Orleans left on the schedule. The Saints are 7-2 and putting themselves into a good spot to contend for a playoff bye and home field advantage. Buffalo is still in the AFC East race, but this is the time of year new England starts to pull away, especially with the weather getting colder. Buffalo starts a two-game road trip, heading west against the LA Chargers.

Packers over Bears-

Green Bay's first win without QB Aaron Rodgers, The Pack may not be able to catch Minnesota for the NFC North crown, but just getting into the playoffs as Rodgers returns late in the season has to be the goal. Chicago is treading water, seeing what they have for the future. They beat the Steelers at home earlier in the season, yet lose to a Packer-less Rodgers? Go figure.Green Bay has a struggling Baltimore team coming into Lambeau Field next weekend, while the Bears hare another divisional game with the Lions at Soldier Field.

Lions over Browns-

Poor Cleveland. it looked like they may earn their first win  of 2017 only to be overtaken by Detroit.

You hate to say it, but the Browns are getting what they deserve, passing over Carson Wentz, Jerad Goff and DeShaun Watson in the last two years. Detroit continues to hang in there in scrambled NFC North, as they go to Chicago this Sunday, only to return home for their traditional Thanksgiving Day game, this a biog one against division-leading Minnesota.

Steelers over Colts-

Pittsburgh almost got caught in a let-down game agains the hapless Colts, squeaking out a 20-17 game in Indianapolis. The Steelers have no competition in AFC North and are trying to pile up wins to get a playoff bye and home field advantage at this point. Indy is just playing out the string, not sure if QB Andrew Luck will return this season or not. Pittsburgh  now goes home to Heinz Field for two home games, this week against a good Tennessee team and next week vs Green Bay.The Colts finally have their bye week.

Falcons over Cowboys-

The first game without running back Zeke Elliot proved to be a disaster for Dallas. Their offensive line gave up seven sacks and couldn't run block. Linebacker Sean Lee got hurt-again- with a hamstring issue. They are a total mess going into a must-win Sunday Night Football clash with the Eagles. The Falcons finally won a home game and needed to stay within striking distance of Carolina and New Orleans in NFC South. Dallas hosts the Eagles this week in a make-or-break NFC East rivalry game, while Atlanta goes to Seattle before playing three straight home games, hoping to hang in there,a t least for a wild card spot.

Jaguars over Chargers-

Jacksonville pulled out a victory over the Chargers in Florida, keeping the Jags in the AFC South race with the Titans. The Chargers are playing better, even better than the putrid Broncos, but LA won't make any noise in the AFC. The Jags go to Cleveland in what should be a win, while the Chargers go home to face Buffalo.

Buccaneers over Jets-

The Jets were surprising early, but have returned to the Jets, while the Bucs, the trendy pick before the season began, won at home but continue to struggle. They are getting buried in their division by the Saints, Panthers and Falcons. New York has a bye this week while Tampa Bay also takes their bye.

Titans over Bengals-

Closer than it should've been, the Bengals eventually lost to Tennessee, as expected. Cincy gets one step closer to firing their inept coach Marvin Jones, while the Titans fight off Jacksonville for the top spot in AFC South.Cincinnati finishes their three-game road trip with a game in Denver, while the Titans take on the in Pittsburgh.

Vikings over Redskins-

After a nice win in Seattle the week before, Washington goes home and lays an egg against a good, but beatable, Minnesota team.At 4-5, count the "Skins out of any playoff hopes this year. The Vikes are a surprising 7-2. Teddy Bridgewater was activated but did not play, QB Casem throwing 4 TDs in the Viking victory. Minnesota has the NFC North to lose. Their key game is Thanksgiving Day at the Lions. First they have the  Rams at home,a match-up of 7-2 clubs. Washington goes to red-hot New Orleans to face Dree Brees.

Rams over Texans-

Every week we ask if the Rams are real, and every week they  torch the opposition. Are they that good? They re fast and exciting, and the game in LA against the Eagles in a few weeks should tell a lot about Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Houston isn't the same with injured quarterback Watson, and, sadly, they are fading fast in AFC South. Hosuton plays the Cardinals at home this week, while those Rams go to Minnesota for a big game with the Vikings.

49'ers over Giants-

San Francisco finally garnered their first win of the year over the pathetic New York Giant The "Niners still suck, and acted like they had just won the Super Bowl, but a win is a win, only it will hurt their chances in the NFL draft next spring. The Giants dropped to 1-8. Who would've thought the G-men would lose so embarrassingly? The coach, the front office- they all need to go. A once-proud franchise is being humiliated. The Giants may as well tank their last 7 games and compete with Cleveland to get the top pick in the draft. SF goes into their bye a happy team while the Giants welcome a pissed off Kansas City Chief team, coming off a loss and a bye.

Patriots over Broncos-

New England is making their annual push to separate themselves from the pack in AFC East, while trying to gather enough wins to assure a playoff bye and home field advantage. It's going to be tough, with Pittsburgh and KC competing hard. Getting the Patriots out of New England in the playoffs is the key to stopping them. Denver has completely collapsed and looked awful again last night at home. They need a quarterback badly, and even with a decent defense, they don't stack up with the better teams. The Pats stay on the road (a stretch of 5 road games out of six) when they face the Raiders in Oakland. Denver stays in Colorado to play Cincinnati in a  game no one really cares about.
