On May 3, 1936, Joe DiMaggio made a stellar debut, collecting three hits in six at bats, including a triple, three runs scored, and an RBI as New York beat the St. Louis Browns 14-5 at Yankee Stadium.
The Yanks finished 102-51 that season, and bested their city rival New York Giants in the World Series, four games to two.
