PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- WORLD SERIES, EAGLES, SIXERS, FLYERS

- The longest game ever in World Series history was played until 3:30 am EST overnight. The Dodgers beat the Red Sox in 18 innings, winning with a walk-off homer by Max Muncy. LA is now down in the series 2-1.

Regardless of the twists and turns of the game, it's still ridiculous for a World series game to finish that late or early in the morning. Kids- the future fans of baseball- could not have been awake to watch the conclusion. I'm not sure what to do to solve the long games. Sure, an 18-inning contest is rare. Maybe start the game at 6:00 pm EST? I'm sure Baseball won't go back to day World Series games.Either way, Baseball is killing itself.

Despite the fact that Los Angeles saved itself with the late victory, I still think Boston wins one of the next two in LA and eventually wins the championship in six games at Fenway Park.

The Sixers play in south Philly tonight against Charlotte. Center Joel Embiid is questionable with an ankle injury. Philadelphia is trying to snap a two-game losing skid.

- The inconsistent Flyers open the doubleheader this afternoon at the Wells Fargo Center with a game against the Islanders. I'll give Coach Hakstol til December. If the Orange and Black are still floundering by then will it be time for a coaching change?
