NFL PREVIEW- WEEK 8

Mid-season already. Hard to believe. Seems like the season just started. Here are my comments on this weeks' games..

Houston beat Miami last night to stay atop of AFC South. Miami, once off to a fast start, sinks lower in AFC East behind New England.

Eagles vs Jaguars (in London)-

Must-win for both struggling teams. Jacksonville has played in London six times already, winning their last three games in England. They are used to the travel, the time difference and the routine. It remains to be seen how the Eagles handle things like jet-lag and the hype. One team will move to 4-4 and still remain alive in the season. The other will drop to 3-5 and face a long second half of the year.

Broncos at Chiefs-

Big AFC West clash. KC at home in Arrowhead Stadium should keep it rolling.

Browns at Steelers-

Cleveland is respectable this season. They played to a tie earlier this year. Pittsburgh can seize control of AFC North, with Cincinnati and Baltimore losing lately.I look for a big Steeler win.

Redskins at Giants-

Washington tries to hang onto the lead in weak NFC East while New York just tries to win a game. Eagle fans will be rooting for the G-men.

Seahawks at Lions-

Detroit remains inconsistent while Seattle remains in nowhere land. They aren't going to catch the Rams in NFC Wets, yet aren't good enough to consider a wild card berth.

Buccaneers at Bengals-

Cincy needs to right the ship after two bad losses the last few weeks. Tampa looks to be trading some assets soon, looking to another rebuild.

Jets at Bears-

Chicago still has life in NFC North, despite losing a big game at home to the Patriots. New York can hang with New England with a win at Soldier Field.

Ravens at Panthers-

Carolina can either feed off momentum of big comeback at Philadelphia last week, or they can have a big let-down after upsetting the Super Bowl champs. Remember, for the first three quarters the Panthers were inept. Meanwhile Baltimore lost a heart breaker at home to the Saints and now must regroup.

Colts at Raiders-

Meaningless game between two teams going nowhere, especially Oakland, who are trading away their best players for draft picks.

49ers at Cardinals-

Another awful game between losers in NFC West. Loser will have inside track on high draft pick next spring.

Packers at Rams-

interesting match-up between Aaron Rodgers and Jared Goff. The undefeated Rams would like to take care of business at home. Winning the NFC West and making the playoffs is a foregone conclusion for Los Angeles. Now it's seeding in the playoffs that matters. The Pack are trying to stay with suddenly-hot Minnesota.

Saints at Vikings-

Sunday Night game which could be a preview of NFC Championship? Saints eeked out road win in Baltimore last week. Big game for seeding in NFC.

Patriots at Bills-

Monday Night contest. Pats are used to playing in chilly weather. All or nothing game for bills.

My NFL picks this week ( record is 9-5 for season, 1-2 last week)

Packers +9.5
Panthers + 2.5
